HOOK UPS

This is the comic-strip I do for the NZ street-mag/newspaper VOLUME.

The comic is called HOOK UPS. It follows the life-long journey of suburban Maori twins Kowhai and Monty Hook, their band and their neurotic enemy band The Rugged Sharks. Mainly it is about the relaxed but eventful road to superstardom they accidentally take.

I drew the first 10 before deciding my comic style aka “Fido Dido drawn by a stoned 8 year old after a dental appointment” was due for a revolution and I have started to involve guest illustrators from all over the world! I’m nerdily excited to say we have some monster drawing talent in store for these sluggish siblings so keep your eyes peeled.

Volume comes out weekly and is free on the streets New Zealand-wide. You can check it online:

Shout out to the far-too-trusting editor Sam Wicks, me doing this strip was his idea.

Click on each one to see it in full. Some strips are better picture quality then others, so to avoid this and to be ahead you should cop the magazine.
